Russian short track speed skater Victor Ahn won two more Olympic golds on Friday and took his tally to six – the highest in the sport's history.
South Korean-born Ahn won his first medal in the 500m, buoyed by Russian fans at the Iceberg Skating Palace. Minutes later he was part of a four-man team that edged the United States to take gold in the 5,000m relay in an Olympic record time.
Ahn becomes the first athlete to win gold in all four short track events in Olympic Winter Games history: men's 500m, 1000m, 1500m and 5000m relay.
The Russian athlete has now won a record six gold medals in short track. His eight medals in total matches the record of US skater Apolo Anton Ohno.
