Additional Information
Start of sporting career
She began biathlon in 2004. (biathlon.com.ua, 08 Jan 2010)
Reason for taking up this sport
Initially she was a cross-country skier as there was no biathlon training facility available in her area. Also, because of her skeletal structure, she could not carry a rifle until age 15. Skiing helped her develop the strength needed for biathlon, so she decided to try the sport. (skisport.ru, 26 Dec 2012; biathlonrus.com, 26 Dec 2012)
Ambitions
To win a medal at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. (biathlon-russia.ru, 05 Apr 2012)
