    Reason for taking up this sport
    Initially she was a cross-country skier as there was no biathlon training facility available in her area. Also, because of her skeletal structure, she could not carry a rifle until age 15.     Anastasiya Kuzmina wins biathlon sprint
    9 FebruaryAnastasiya Kuzmina wins biathlon sprint
    Anastasia Kuzmina of Slovakia won Olympic gold in the biathlon sprint in Sochi. Kuzmin also won gold in this race in Vancouver. She has become the first biathlete to win individual races in one discipline in two consecutive Olympic Games.
