Start of sporting careerShe took up skiing as a child in Foppolo, Italy. Her parents Giancarlo and Fiorella then convinced her to switch to snowboarding as they thought she would have more chance of becoming a snowboarder than a skier. (wintersport-news.it, 17 Feb 2013)

She finds competition can sometimes put a strain on her relationships with teammates such as Raffaella Brutto, but she generally finds the spirit in the Italian squad to be very positive.
