    He and partner Marianne St-Gelais, a fellow short track skater and member of the national team, provided a memorable moment at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games with their celebratory kiss on the sidelines. He had just won his first Olympic gold in the 500m final. Despite both being elite skaters they try to avoid sport talk when not training. "On weekends we have a rule. We don't talk about speed skating. We just want to do normal things like laundry and cleaning," St-Gelais said.
