Reason for taking up this sportHe was originally an alpine skier, but made the switch to ski cross before the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. He chose the discipline as it was an alternative to traditional racing. GeneralCHARITY WORK
Well-known for his beard, he offered to shave off his facial hair after the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, in order to raise money for his teammate Scott Kneller's charity. He raised over 10,000 Australian dollars for the Rob Kneller Youth Foundation, which aims to provide children in Jindabyne, NSW, Australia, with the opportunity to learn how to ski.
